Consider how technology has helped you to be productive and complete tasks.   Examine the physical requirements for using your favorite technologies.   How might physical disabilities hamper your use of those preferred technologies and impact your personal productivity.   As a teacher, what can you do to mitigate these challenges for students with special needs.

Check out this Website! Play around and create a short story for kids in your content area. This is a fun site. However, what are some problems you see using software like this? Do you think it would be easy for a student with physical limitations to use this software? How would Gifted and talented students use this software? Can ELL and CLD benefit from the use of this? In your opinion, does or can, software like this increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of all students in the classroom regardless of talent level, language and culture?

Concept Maps/Graphic Organizers will be common in your classroom. This picture is an example of a commonly used graphic organizer to help students with the writing process. How would something like this help students with the writing process? Can you see any problems this may cause in your classroom? Check out this website for different types of maps and organizers.

This is a very interesting and helpful website that has games to help enhance the learning process for students. Look through the website and play some of the games in your chosen grade/content area as well as outside of your grade/content area. For example, if you are wanting to become a high school Social Studies teacher look at some of the games posted for that content area but also look at say.. elementary math. Try out as many of the games as you would like and leave a review of which one or two would be the most helpful to you. Also, give your opinion on whether or not you think educational games such as these provide students with the opportunity to learn or would they be a distraction? Lastly, try and think of how you would implement something like this in your classroom. Would you do this whole group or use it as enrichment for struggling or higher functioning students.
