Overview
In this chapter you learned how today's teachers must be able to integrate
technology into their content with as much ease as they
have incorporated pencils, paper, and books.
Educational technological literacy is a requirement for teachers. We know that children beginning school will
experience many changes in the technologies that are a part of the everyday
world in which they will grow up. Teachers must be able to adapt instructional practices to the literacies of today and tomorrow. These changes occur at speeds we don't even notice yet they offer exciting and important ways you can present
instruction.

1.1 C Learner- I believe this is important because teachers should stay up to date on the best ways to educate their students. It is also a learning experience for teachers to find new and better ways to teach some content that otherwise might be boring or uninteresting to the students.
ReplyDelete5a I believe is important because not everyone is able to learn the same, certain things may need to be tailored to fit the students needs.
ReplyDelete6a I believe is important as well due to the fact that students now tend to not work well with others as well as "slack off" during group projects. It can also give a better outcome in their personal lives having them take ownership of their outcomes.
5a
ReplyDeleteUse technology to create, adapt and personalize learning experiences that foster independent learning and accommodate learner differences and needs.
Every student learns differently so we as teachers must be able to help them get the most out of what we are teaching them. Some students are better at hands on, others are better at reading it through a text book. We as teachers must be able to reach each and every student to be the best teachers we can be; and for the students to be the best they can be.
6d
Model and nurture creativity and creative expression to communicate ideas, knowledge or connections.
Each student has there own creativity inside them. Helping them be creative and bring out their creativity will help them take control of how they learn and what they are learning. Being creative as a teacher and as a student helps us take learning to a whole new level. In ways that not many have the opportunity to do.
5.5 C Designer- I believe this is important because educators should be smart and strategic about how they mold the minds of their students with using technology. Teachers should try to make their material entertaining, informative and thought provoking.
ReplyDeleteUnder 2.) Leader (2b) "Advocate for equitable access to educational technology, digital content and learning opportunities to meet the diverse needs of all students" I believe it's important that not only do you have the responsibility of learning the new technology, but being able to express/teach to others what you have learned. To address this I would maybe dedicate an entire class to showing what systems/tech we'd be using through out the year.
ReplyDeleteAnd Under 4.) Collaborator (4b) "Collaborate and co-learn with students to discover and use new digital resources and diagnose and troubleshoot technology issues" It is important that not only do you teach your students what you learn, but they also teach you what they know and discover to provide the most interactive and "collaborative" learning experience. To address this I would always open up suggestions from the class to see if they learned something that I didn't from the tech/program we're using.
1.1B) "Pursue professional interests by creating and actively participating in local and global learning networks." This standard is critical because technology and learning around us is changing everyday and to be the good teacher you have to keep up with new advances. One way I would go about this is to be apart of many blogs that have discussions and social media chat groups that can benefit my learning about technology. Being apart of these chat groups can give me information on how other teachers a re utilizing technology and I want to use their ideas on my own classroom.
ReplyDelete5.5A) "Use technology to create, adapt and personalize learning experiences that foster independent learning and accommodate learner differences and needs." Every student is different and it is hard to be able to teach in a way that every student understands. This standard is important because it makes sure that all students have the same opportunity to be able to learn. One way I would use technology in my classroom is have hands on learning experiences such as having the students download apps on their phone and have group quizzes in class and group practice sessions using that app on their phone. I could also create interactive power points for the students to get more involved with the lesson.
